Joe Habben is a British Photographer and Communication Designer, based between the UK and Italy.

Driven by a focus on community, culture and politics; Joe Habben’s practice focuses on the reciprocal relationship between natural and urban environments with recent projects addressing pressing global themes, including human intervention, public space, globalisation, and the climate crisis.

Internationally recognized for his impactful work, Joe has been featured in PhMuseum, VICE, La Repubblica, and The Guardian.  His series In Moleca won the acclaimed Earth Photo: A Climate of Change award in 2021.
He’s showcased in notable galleries, including Fondazione Querini Stampaglia, The Royal Geographical Society, and Street Level Photoworks, and been published in the British Journal of Photography: Portrait of Britain in 2020 and Portrait of Humanity in 2021.

With a diverse portfolio that includes collaborations with NGOs, charities, as well as music and fashion industries, Joe’s work resonates across both commercial and nonprofit sectors with selected clients including KesselsKramer, United Nations FCC, Bloomberg, and the Scottish FA.

Joe is the founder of Catalyst Studios, a non-profit creative hub that supports Glasgow's creative community and fosters local talent.

He participated in the prestigious Fabrica Research Centre residency in Treviso, Italy in 2023 where he later collaborated as an internal photographer in 2024.

Currently, Joe is working on La Laguna Resiste, a project that documents and amplifies the efforts of communities resisting social and natural erosion in the Venetian Lagoon.
