By exploring ‘public space’ we experience both the converging and contesting elements within contemporary society.

This terrain reflects the ephemerality of social, economic and cultural changes within our environment. This project conveys these ideas through the imperfections and chance situations experienced within the urban landscape. Concentrated within these spaces, inhabitants and other forms compete to thrive.

Structures which are intended to offer stability and security also provoke tension. Neglected pockets of the city reveal the seams of societal imbalance.

This disparity however, can encourage the convergence of new ideas. Through dialogue and debate, these spaces could be utilised in order to reshape contemporary culture and urban environments.
